Climb for Wilderness
Climb for Wilderness is Alberta Wilderness Association’s annual Earth Day event at the Bow Building. This event provides you the unique opportunity to climb 1188 stairs inside the Bow tower. The day is filled with entertainment, and this year we will launch of an outstanding Wild Alberta show featuring the images of photographers from across the province at this event. There will be displays where you can learn more about Alberta’s wilderness, wildlife and wild waters. Children’s activities and opportunities to learn about wildlife are an important part of the day. You will have a terrific time! As well you can be eligible for outstanding prizes if you choose to fundraise.
People of all ages, and athletic ability are welcome to participate. If you are aged 2 to 102 this is your Earth Day event.
You can begin your climb at any time between 8:30am – 12:00 pm on April 22, 2017.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for this fun and challenging event. Each year, more than 100 volunteers are involved in the Climb for Wilderness event; from initial planning to cleaning up the last detail, weeks after the event is over. We are excited to have you join our enthusiastic team, and help us make this an extremely successful event for Alberta Wilderness Association.
In appreciation of your time, all volunteers receive a special volunteer Climb for Wilderness T-Shirt and an enjoyable experience in support of Alberta wilderness, wildlife and wild waters.
The Climb for Wilderness raises funds for the continued conservation work of AWA. Each volunteer’s participation means we will be able to create a greater awareness of wilderness in Alberta, how important it is to all of us, and how we can protect it for generations to come.
