VOLUNTEERS
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for
this fun and challenging event. Each year, almost 100 volunteers are involved in
the Climb and Run for Wilderness event; from initial planning to cleannig up the
last detail, weeks after the event is over. We are excited to have you join our
enthusiastic team, and help us make this an extremely successful event for Alberta
Wilderness Association.
In appreciation of your time, all volunteers receive a special volunteer Climb and Run
for Wilderness T-Shirt and an enjoyable experience in support of Alberta Wilderness,
wildlife and wild waters.
Volunteer opportunities include the following and more!
- Brochure distribution and top-up of brochures at distribution points for the
weeks leading up to the event;
- Poster distribution throughout the city and surrounding area.
- Banner hanging on overpasses in the City and daily checks to ensure banners
are still up;
- Deliveries throughout the city;
- Obtaining posters and related artwork to hang in the tower stairwells;
- Set-up for the event on the day before;
- Greeters at the event;
- Wild Alberta Expo assistants;
- Water distribution;
- Registration desk assistants;
- Climb starters;
- Multiple-climb counters and timers;
- Tower stair aides;
- Clowns;
- Warm-up exercise leaders;
- Data entry;
- Photography;
- Cheerleaders at the top of the tower;
- Awards ceremony assistance;
- Clean up after the event.
